Dan King

Dan King is the proud owner and operator of The Mean Green Carpet Clean, a locally grown restoration company serving Fairfax, Alexandria, Arlington, and the surrounding Northern Virginia communities. Taking the mantle from our founder, John Smith, Dan has dedicated more than 25 years to refining a “higher standard of cleaning” for the DMV area. His vision is built on the principle that home maintenance should be a technical science, not a guessing game, providing a reliable and sophisticated alternative to the “splash and dash” national franchises.

Rooted in integrity and a relentless pursuit of excellence, Dan’s approach to floor and fabric care goes far beyond surface-level aesthetics. He fundamentally understands that your home is your largest investment and your family’s sanctuary. This belief motivates him to invest heavily in IICRC-certified training and industry-leading, truck-mounted hot water extraction systems. Under his leadership, the company solves the most complex indoor environmental challenges—ranging from persistent pet odor decontamination and red-clay stain removal to emergency water mitigation following a burst pipe or local flooding.

Community is the heartbeat of Dan’s operation. The Mean Green Carpet Clean is deeply woven into the fabric of the Northern Virginia corridor, from the historic streets of Old Town Alexandria and the urban centers of Arlington to the quiet estates of McLean and Potomac. This local connection is his primary motivation; he treats every client like a neighbor because, in the DMV, you are. When you welcome Dan’s team into your home, you are supporting a local specialist who understands the specific environmental stressors of the region—like the high humidity of the Potomac River basin and the atmospheric soot from the I-495 corridor.

Under Dan’s leadership, The Mean Green Carpet Clean has earned a reputation for unwavering honesty, technical mastery, and a personal touch. Every project, whether a high-rise upholstery refresh in Rosslyn or a full-home carpet restoration in Fairfax, receives the same dedication to quality and respect. With Dan at the helm, the company continues to raise the bar for local restoration—delivering cleaner, healthier environments built on a foundation of trust, integrity, and genuine care for the Northern Virginia community.
